Kairos Prison Ministry - Buckingham 30
Another Kairos has come and gone. Please see the stories (green buttons) to see how your help impacted the residents in Buckingham 30. Read how this important missionary work impacted those "on the other side of the wall."
WHAT IS KAIROS?
KAIROS, or “God’s Special Time,” is a ministry to people in Correctional Centers (CC), their families and youth, many of which have never heard the Gospel in all its fullness. There are programs for women, men, and youth that are incarcerated and for families left behind.
KAIROS, for men and for women, begins with a three-day weekend where they begin to understand themselves and their relationship to God; examine their relationship with Christ and others as well as the role of forgiveness in those relationships; and, introduce them to the process of growing in faith and community with others. It is followed by monthly reunions to enhance the residents’ knowledge of Christianity.
KAIROS TORCH is a program to minister to incarcerated youth offenders and provide a mentoring relationship between the youth and a mature Christian volunteer.
KAIROS OUTSIDE is a program for families and friends of those incarcerated and is designed to provide support those whose lives have been adversely impacted by the convict’s absence. This support is provided in a safe environment with Christian people during a KAIROS OUTSIDE weekend. Families will also have an opportunity to interact and form support groups.
WHERE IS KAIROS HELD?
KAIROS for men and women, as well as KAIROS TORCH are held within the prisons.
KAIROS OUTSIDE can be held anywhere that is agreeable to families or friends.
WHO IS INVOLVED IN KAIROS?
a. All those that believe in Jesus Christ. Many prisoners have done unscrupulous things that warrant their detention in State or Federal Correction Centers. Even though they have rebelled against society they are still human beings that God also loves. No matter how heinous their crime, God still cries for them and forgives their sins just as God does ours.
