Volunteer Opportunity to Help one of our All Souls Families

Jim and Carole Godwin and daughter, Jamie, have to maintain a balance between Jim’s work in Midlothian, Carole’s medical appointments, and Jamie’s school.  Presently, we’re looking for volunteers to help with Carole’s weekly medical appointments in Mechanicsville.  She typically receives treatment once a week on Tuesday mornings.  Volunteer activity includes:

•  Driving to the Godwin’s (off Studley Road) and once there Carole can operate her wheel chair      and get into the Godwin’s truck containing a manual wheelchair.

•  Drive Carole in the Godwin’s truck to Hanover Green Drive.

•  Unload Carole’s manual wheel chair. (Carol can get out of the truck and get into her chair).

•  Push Carole’s wheelchair up the ramp and into the doctor’s office.

•  After the appointment—volunteers need to assist Carol out of the office and down the ramp 

     to her truck and drive her home.

If you’re unable to help with the Tuesday appointments, there are other opportunities (semi-annual medical appointments across town, visiting Carol and Jamie at the Godwin’s so Jim can attend All Soul’s Men’s Night Out, etc).   If you are able to volunteer, please contact Brooks Palmer at 804-730-3718 or email her at movingpalmers@verizon.net.
